How do I configure my NetSuite/NetCRM account for web services access?

Several short steps must be followed to correctly setup your NetSuite account for access via Web Services. These steps may require administrator rights. If your login account does not have sufficient rights to access these features, please contact your administrator for assistance.
  1. Enable Web Services
  2. Within NetSuite navigate to Setup->Company->Enable Features. Make sure the checkbox next to “Web Services” is checked. You may need to accept a terms of service agreement from NetSuite to complete this step.
  3. Obtain your NetSuite account ID
  4. Within NetSuite navigate to Setup->Integration->Web Services and record the value of the “Account ID” field (ex. “ACCT32478”) If you are using a standard administrator or sales person role, your configuration is complete.
  5. Configure Custom Role
  6. If you wish to login with a role other than the standard Administrator or Sales Person, your role must have web services permission. To add web services permissions navigate to Setup->Users/Roles->Manage Roles. Find your role and click the “Customize” or “Edit” link left of the name. Select the “Setup” tab and verify that “Web Services” role is present in the list of permitted activities. Click “Done” followed by “Save” at the top-left corner of the page.
  7. Obtain Custom Role IDWithin NetSuite, navigate to Setup->Integration->Web Services.
    1. select a user from the drop-down list in lower region of the screen.
    2. select the corresponding role associated with that user and the corresponding Role ID will be displayed in the ID field.
    3. the list will only show roles with “web services” permission. If you don’t see the role, you need to go back to step 3 and ensure the desired role has the “web services” permission enabled.
    4. use this Role ID when prompted on the login page for the Field Sales Rep in order to login under that “custom role”.

You do not have permission to access web services feature

If you encounter this error the first step is to check that your account level web services are enabled. You can check the account level web services by navigating to:

Setup --> Company --> Enable Features

within NetSuite. The default general tab contains an element "Web Services" on the right-hand column, make certain this box is checked. If the account level web services are enabled, the next step is to check the role-based permissions. This is particularly true for any custom roles. Within NetSuite navigate to:

Setup --> Users/Roles --> Manage Roles

and view the role being used for NetSuite access. Under the Setup tab of the Permissions tab verify that the "web services full" is selected
